Two Ways to “Think Pink” with Brickfish This Month

160_bca In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Brickfish has teamed up with brands such as Estée Lauder and Mariah Carey to spread awareness online and inspire women everywhere. 

Breast cancer continues to be one of the most prevalent diseases facing women today – it is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer. Thanks to early detection and treatment, an estimated 2.4 million women living in the U.S. have been diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer. These women continue to conquer the disease and go on to live happy, normal lives.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, sponsored by The Estée Lauder Companies, is proud to support this cause and gives women the opportunity to share their personal story of triumph - or honor someone they love who has battled this disease.

Women are invited to share their stories for a chance at winning some much needed pampering and products from Estée Lauder. From blogs about young survivors to beautiful photos of women and their support systems, these stories are sure to ignite the cause and make October 2008 prettier, pinker and more powerful than ever!

Aptly titled Luscious Pink, Mariah Carey’s new fragrance by Elizabeth Arden, is sure to drive some extra awareness by auctioning off an awe-inspiring dress for breast cancer research in the Design a Luscious Pink Dress for Mariah Carey Contest.

Entrants are invited to design a dress for Mariah Carey inspired by her fragrance and logo. The winning design will be selected by Mariah and a panel of fashion experts.

Three custom dresses will be made from the winning design; one to be adorned by Mariah for the world to behold, one for the contest winner to add to his/her own collection and one to be produced and auctioned off at a charity event benefiting Breast Cancer Awareness.

Annoucing the Geo View Feature on Brickfish

Brickfish is proud to announce a new feature that you may have already noticed. Using Brickfish's patented Viral Map™ technology, in addition to checking out the Web View of campaigns and entries, there is now an option called Geo View. It allows you to see where in the world people are engaging with entries and campaigns.

The Web View of an entry will show how a campaign has virally spread across the Internet in real time, identifying all Web sites where the campaign has been posted and total views on each. Geo View technology, which integrates with the Google Map API, now enables you to track engagements geographically and obtain real time data on where and what types of engagements are occurring by city, state, region and country.

The Brickfish new and improved Entry Editor is a design tool that provides an easy and fun way to create campaign entry masterpieces. User generated content is created by uploading and choosing assets, changing colors and adding original text.

Take a look at The Wackness Graffiti Throw Down and browse some of the excellent movie posters that have been created so far. Vote for the ones you like or use them as inspiration to create your own!

We are excited to announce some new features in the Brickfish community.

Here at Brickfish we strive to continually improve our site and platform, while constantly taking feedback from our members into account.

As you may have seen, campaigns now have an Overview page. The Overview page provides you with a quick summary of important instructions and prizing for each campaign. Pressed for time and not sure what a campaign is about? Take a quick look by clicking on the Overview Tab!

We have reorganized the Frequently Asked Questions as well. The FAQs are now organized by subject. This will make it easier for you to navigate if a question should arise. New Feature Makes It Easier to Rise to the Top

We’ve seen your entries appear all over the internet on Facebook, Myspace, Xanga, AIM and beyond! More and more people are taking advantage of our easy Post to Websites and Embed tools to help generate excitement around an entry and rise to the top of internet fame.

Airdrives2_2 To keep the excitement going, we’re adding a great new feature to help you get even more support for your entries. This new feature is launching soon, but we’re proud to offer you a sneak peak.
Now friends and family can vote wherever your entry appears! Every time an entry appears on another site (like MySpace) using the Post to Websites and Embed tools, visitors to those sites will be able to vote directly on an entry without coming to Brickfish! They simply click the “vote” button below the entry and that vote registers in the campaign!

What does this mean for you?  The more people vote for an entry, the more your score increases in the rankings!

Along with the new vote feature, we’ve revamped the look of the player to better feature the entry and help make it easier to pass along.

What is Brickfish (to you)?

A brick shaped like a fish?  A fish shaped like a brick?  How would you describe Brickfish to a friend?  We’ve told you about the great campaigns and prizes we’re offering, but we’ve never gotten down to the idea behind Brickfish.  We’re a lot of things, but here is how I see Brickfish.
                                             

I don’t want to toot our own horn, but who am I kidding—if I didn’t think it was a great idea, I wouldn’t be here.  I see Brickfish as an amazing site that brings together an incredible group of individuals with shared interests.  Be it art, design, photographs, or blogs, we want to unite our members and guests through campaigns that are relevant to them.  On top of that, we want to reward you for being fantastic members, by offering one-of-a- kind experiences.

                                                                                  

Where else would you find the opportunity to earn a virtual mentorship with top New York designer Thakoon?  How about having your artwork featured on a CodeMaster’s site?  Sing on stage with Grammy Award winning artist like Rascal Flatts?  The list goes on and on.

                                                         

But the real story behind Brickfish is... YOU.  You are the heart and soul of what we are.  Your enthusiasm, your creativity, your imagination allows us to be amazing.  So, thank you.
